So my educational prospects have changed a fair amount in the past few hours. A summary:
So yeah, good news in the end. In the worst case scenario I have to stop working at job #1 in March until June rolls around, and my admission is delayed. If the admissions people here think my history is too dire, I can go for the ACMS program (applied math, basically). However from the brief discussion I had with them today it seems that things may be better than I thought. We'll see, I have an appointment with them in the first week of October.
- Taking 6 credits as a non-matriculated student will not get me student status, so my employment situation does not change.
- Taking one class (~3 credits) is more affordable better, and will help me with admission.
- The Elecrical Engineering department just got a grant for 40 more undergraduate seats.
- Electrical Engineering admissions are down, and my academic standing is improving with each quarter.
