Apple is one of those companies that I fundamentally cannot trust. They have essentially created a cult of personality around their "hip" image, and market the wazoo out of it. They sell inferior products for more money than the competition, and their marketing machine makes them successful.
Also, my experiences supporting their systems have been abysmal. Macintoshes are by far the least behaved systems I take care of (even worse than the win98 boxes!)
I thought you thought that Microsoft was the MAN! Or are you just anti-anything large and corporate?
Not really. Microsoft is like any giant company, which means they are evil in certain ways... but they have very little power over me so I'm not terribly worried about them. I can cease using their products at any moment and be reasonably happy. In fact it'd probably be rather good for me since I only use my windows box for gaming really.
I'm not knee-jerky anti-anything large and corporate, but I am automatically suspicious. Those coprorations who persue courses of action that I find ethically repulsive will not receive my business. Unfortunately many of them fall into this catagory.
