I have a ton of site tokens. Over the years I have kept many of them, though most in the "beads on a string" category end up not being saved.

As time passes, I forget which events were associated with various tokens, even some of the really cool ones. I've been thinking that a sort of online catalogue of site tokens, perhaps driven with a wiki, would be a good way to ensure I don't forget forever. I've done some web searching, and it appears that such a thing does not already exist. There are pages with pictures of tokens various people have made, and sites with pictures of tokens from big events (Pennsic, Gulf Wars, etc), but nothing with a particularly broad scope.

So, oh readers, to you I pose this question:

If I created an online catalogue of site tokens that anyone could edit, would you use it? Do you think you would contribute to it?

They're little tokens that show someone has paid the site fee for an SCA event. It's kind of like a bracelet or hand stamp at a concert that shows you bought a ticket.

The blue braid with the safety pin on the top looks like it was probably a Cleftlands token! Maybe the coronation for Val/Elyse? Nice to see you have some MK one hiding in there. There are some really nice tokens too. I have a ton of mine, but they are mostly cheap crappy ones- seriously, how many cheap pony beads on a piece of yarn can one keep before they chuck the lot? I keep the really cool ones (sometimes). I have a uber cool one from a Crown a long time ago that Finn made out of glass. It makes a nice little paperweight now.

I think it's a cool idea- go for it.

hehe... I have a ton sitting aruond also, but I tend to end up incorporating them into my artwork - I can think of one that is sitting next to a print in a gallery right now. :-) I would contribute to the dtatebase - this sounds like my kind of random time waisting!

Sounds like a cool idea. I'd contribute. :)

The three-mountain token I recognize from a past Blackstone Raids. :) And there's that midrealm sheild token (with the dragon that looks more like a dog) that Alaric made for... heck, was it a January event or a NOWM? Is that big beige thing the TSR-esque dragon stamped sculpy from the NOWM Steve made the tokens for?

And I recognize the blue and white braided ribbon - I did those for Val and Alys' corronation and a standard bearer's. aw, memories. :)

Bastian made rune stones for Ragnvaldr and Arrabella's corronation in Cleftlands - their second? third? - anyhoo - maybe that's teh rune stone at the front, bu then again maybe not.

This is fun! I have to admit - I was cleaning house and had to save some site tokens from the trash can... and I wondered, why do I save these? Someone did such work to make them, but what can be done with them?

Oh I'd definitely contribute; I've been stowing tokens in a box for ages :)

That is definitely the glow-in-the-dark sculpy dragon from NOWM a few years ago, heh. You've gotten some pretty new ones in An Tir, I see!

Though you'd have to separate it out by kingdom I imagine; I see a list of images and the name, location and date of the event beside it, and maybe a section for un-identified tokens that have a comment-enabled feature for folks visiting the site to identify them?

Would also be useful for those planning site tokens for future events to get ideas. :)
