You know, I also sometimes am given a hard time about what I do and do not eat. Especially when people find out about things I won't eat (ie peppers, beans) and things I do eat (lots of sushi). And to be perfectly honest, the few times I have run into people who don't eat garlic I have given them a pretty hard time (jokingly of course). Not sure what it is about food, but it does seem to encourage strong reactions. I find not eating garlic much odder than not eating meat, and the reasons behind the choices don't seem to make any difference in my reactions.
