I read The Vor Game today, good book, as expected. It's one of the Miles Vorkosigan series, which I am really starting to enjoy. I think I'm going to have to buy all of the books in the series one of these days, I'm all ready wanting to read some of first ones I encountered...

QUASI!

The show last night kicked ass, it was a lot of fun. I took a couple of photos, that are pretty washed out, but I'll post them sometime soon. I'm running out of webspace, and will need to do something of my own. I'll probably just put up a webserver on my work machine, I have the space (once it's alive again.) I asked Sam (of Quasi) if I could take photos while they were playing last night, ended up talking to him for a little bit, which was cool.

Being alone at the concert was kind of strange. Once Quasi started playing it was all fine anyway.

I bought a Quasi T-shirt last night at the show, it's bright orange with some pale blue figures on it. Hard to explain, but I'll take a photo of it. I also bought a copy of "Early Recordings", Quasi's first album, which has finally been reprinted! It's good, if rather disjointed. I picked up their tour 7", even though I don't have a turntable. =P

Quasi is great.

On a less happy note, my parents are having our dog Missy put to sleep tomorrow. She's a small Maltese-Pikanese mix, and has nearly pure white fur. She's sixteen years old now, which is insane for a small dog... It's hard for me to believe, really. I had no real special attachment to her (unlike my cat Tigger, who died last year at 18 years), but it's another part of my childhood melting away. What little is left.

I don't have many memories of my childhood, really. It's not like I have much to block out, it was a good time, I just don't remember it well. This is contrasted to my memories of my teen years, which has gaping holes where I've burned away memories to keep myself moderately sane.

And it's probably not working.
