So... much... driving...

Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] ursule and I drove down to Eugene for our friend Jeremy's bachelor party. We had Indian food, played board and card games, King's Cup, and drank ourselves silly. Much fun was had by all.

This morning we recovered, helped Jeremy a bit with moving a bookcase around, and visited our respective parents briefly. Afterwards we hung out on Hawthorne in Portland for a bit, perusing various shops looking for presents. After they all started closing we had dinner at Fujin (a chinese place on Hawthorne), which kicked so much ass. Oh man, crispy eggplant. So good. Mmm.

Then we drove home. Yay, lots of driving.

Tomorrow I'll be heading down to Olympia to make coins. Fortunately I picked up a 3/4" annular punch at Hardwick's, so I wont have to cut the blanks out by hand. Using a punch is much easier, and produces a much nicer looking coin. It's only soldily documentable for coins at the very end of period, but yeah. Similar punches were used to make solid rings out of steel for maille in the 13th and 14th centuries, so I find it hard to believe that moneyers avoided them.
