I had a fun time at Blackstone Raids yesterday, we did quite well on the field, and had much fun fighting our noble and honourable neighbors in AEthelmearc.
Once again I was shown that many people smoke in West Virginia. Seeing someone in a gorgeous Elizabethan gown smoking is really jarring. Not that my gear is very authentic at the moment... oh well, at least I don't wear blue jeans. ;)
The restaurant we wanted to go to dinner at (actually it's a golf club that we ate at last year - excellent food) was closed. We were irriated. Well, I was anyway. We ended up eating at this "Italian" place next to the imfamous Thaxton's steak place. It was vaguely Italian themed, the waitress was not very pleasant, but the food was actually decent. I had a garden pizza thingy that was fine, except for the marginal quality of the broccoli, which was easily removed.
Next year I *must* remember to make the Bad David Bowie Tape of Doom. Blackstone Raids *requires* the laughing gnome.
