So yeah, Monday night after work (and my final), Steve Zeke and I went to the Lemon Grass, a kickass Thai place reasonably near here. Afterwards we hung out and watched the first four episodes of Trigun. The animation in that series is pretty good, although I found the overwhelming silliness got to me.

Apparently the later episodes are much darker and depressing. I shall have to watch them at some point.

Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning I went with a bunch of people to see The Two Towers.
Things we learned in The Two Towers:

1) Gandalf isn't really into the whole magic thing, he's much rather fight with staff or sword.
2) Legolas invented the skateboard.
3) Horses can scatter uruk-hai as if they were paper dolls.
4) If you run into a throng of enemies, just spin around quickly and they will be unable to hit you.
5) Armour is only useful when being worn by a king.
6) If you fall off of a gigantic cliff, the love of a far-away aloof elf princess will make everything better.
7) Saruman can make gigantic bombs, but he doesn't deal with fuses. Only suicidal uruk-hai will suffice.
8) Legolas can one-shot any enemy except said suicidal orcs (or cave trolls from the previous film)
9) The less you bathe the more women will flock to you.
10) Orcish hordes will stop fighting and become totally silent when a main character dies or makes a dramatic speech.

Don't want to spoil the film for anyone...

Yoz!

Hey, first off you need to get in touch with me via AIM or ICQ or whatever you happen to use these days. Second your summery of Two towers is right bloody amusing, and third You haven't seen ANYTHING for anime yet bro. Talk to Malleus or myself about it sometime. Trigun is a really good series that has a good amount of levity in it for how completely twisted and depressing it gets. There's alot more to that anime (like alot of others) than apears on the surface. I've noticed a running pattern in most anime that goes as follows: 1) Lots of stupid crazy shit. 2) More stupid crazy shit but maybe we'll start explaining things. 3) No more stupid crazy shit, but we're just going to suddently get serious and kill off half of the characters. 5) If you're really lucky there might be a happy ending and we might have maybe halfway explaioned why all the really nasty stuff happened to people.

Catch ya later G3.

Re: Yoz!

Aye, I have seen a few series, and a bunch of movies... My anime consumption is limited by the fact that I have a very difficult time dealing with Crazy Shit. Silliness drives me up the wall, I wish they'd just get to the depressing bits. ;)

I'm not on ICQ very much at all, but my UIN is 20036245.
