So it turns out that the brakes on my moped are just fine. However, the little black box that regulates power for the turn signals had falled down and gotten wedged in between the rear wheel and one of the shock absorbers. It melted a little bit and spewed plastic shavings all over the back end, but it looks like everything is fine.
Yeah. Not having to repair the brakes = good.

What exactly is a moped?
Gracie will be moving out soon, and we need some sort of cheap secondary transportation to supplement the one car the three of us will be sharing.
So we were thinking of a motorcycle, though I really don't know anything about mopeds.

A motorized bike with, =< 50cc engine, 2 brake horsepower, pedals, and a max speed of ~35 mph.
The legal definition varies quite a bit by state.
If you go back a few weeks on my journal, you can see some pictures of my moped. Or, browse the photo gallery at http://www.mopedarmy.com

Now scooters are an entirely different matter. I don't know anything about them really, because I'm not interested in them.
