A few bits

• My midterm better than I expected, and the curve was very generous to me.
  
• I need to write my "Why I'm so cool" essay for UW admissions this weekend. They just started accepting applications.
  
• Last I heard there are still only 240 slots for all transfer applicants this quarter.
  
• Getting a high grade in my class (systems and signals) will make my chances quite a bit better.
  
• My brown ale seems to have turned out rather well.
  
• I may be GMing a D&D game soonish.
  
• Nothing fell off of my moped this Monday, though the airbox is still looser than I'd like.
  
• Seattle has been foggy for almost a week. Fog is nice.
  
• Post-election depression is fading.
  
• And we're off to the market for possibly the last time this year.

Know what you might want to try? Drilling two small holes in your carb to mount a clip fashioned from a wire hanger or somesuch to hold your airbox on. Or maybe you don't need holes, if you figure out another way to make it work. It's gotta be better than their clamping system anyway.

Yeah I've thought about that, but it'd make taking the carb out even more of a pain in the ass. Now I have a couple of rectangular bits of closed-cell foam glued onto the back of the airbox. This keeps it from falling off but doesn't really help it keep a good seal to the carb.

It turns out I've stripped the bolt on that stupid little clamp too. If I replace that I think my current setup will work all right.

Yeah things are getting better. The nexus of "will I get into the UW" still looms upon the horizon, and all is dark beyond it.

I really hope I can go to Pennsic this year. I'll be working full time over the summer so money shouldn't be a problem. My friend Gwynnin (who came to pennsic my first year, remember him?) is getting married right around then, so I may only be able to go for a week, or come back early depending on which weekend they choose.

I'll be in town for Alaric's wedding too for 5 days by the way. :)

when i first read this, i thought your essay really had to be called "why i am so cool" and i thought, that's just like the uw. it's kind of early, okay?
