School starts in a week and a half, ack!

A few quick notes:

I fought last weekend at Acorn War, which was the event I authorized at five years ago. I had a blast, as can be seen in the photos:

There are pictures from September crown there as well. I especially like When Gwynnins attack!

My mon die is so close to being done, but I wont be able to finsih it until 12th night without some herculean effort. I *can* finish my 100 coins with the die in its current state though, it'll work just fine for pounding pewter. Things I need to do:
  • Make about a dozen punches, including my maker's mark
  • Get experience hardening punches
  • Make a table to put a rolling mill on
  • Make a small die holder for when engraving
  • Get a bolster anvil of some sort and prep it so I can strike coins
  • Make lots of coin blanks

make it hard baby

I'm not sure if I mentioned the one hardenting trick that's easy to follow, but when the meteal goes from soft to hard it looses it's magnetism as it passes the Curie point. That means if you attach a magnet, and heat a piece of steel 'till it falls off, there you are hard metal.
