Excitement during dinner...

[livejournal.com profile] ursule and I were having dinner in a Vietnamese place on the ave tonight. Sometime late in the meal we heard what sounded like a large firecracker going off outside. A few minutes later several cop cars, an ambulance, and a fire truck had completely shut down the ave...

SEATTLE – One person was gunned down outside a restaurant in Seattle's University District Tuesday night.

Shots rang out just before 9 p.m. on University Avenue outside a Mexican restaurant.

In my experience (twice), pistol-fire does sound exactly like firecrackers. They should publicize that information, because the first time I didn't do anything because that's what I thought it was, and the ghetto kids I lived next to always lit off firecrackers.

Brian,

I was wondering if you and your truck might be willing to help me take a few large pieces of furniture to the Goodwill in downtown either tonight or tomorrow night -- I want to donate them but don't have a way of getting there. In exchange for your assistance, I'd give you cash equivalent to a full tank of gas at today's prices. :)

Let me know if you'd be willing to help. It would probably involve ~4 trips back and forth between Cap Hill and SoDo.

Thank you!
Bjorn
