Do you know what you got already?

[identity profile] glasseye.livejournal.com 2006-08-30 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they tell you your scores on the verbal and quantitative parts immediately. It takes 2-3 weeks for them to get the essay scores back though.

Congratulations! :) It's a great feeling to be past that hurdle.

No kidding. I was amazed how a silly little test could cause me so much stress...

[identity profile] eirias.livejournal.com 2006-08-30 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I was more anxious during that test than I've ever been during another test (not counting things like performances). I think it's the only test I've ever taken where I felt that my anxiety lowered my score. I think the adaptive format had something to do with that.

I'm commenting here, to one of your previous posts, so as not to leave undue spoilers in my own post about Doobl.

First, I am not totally convinced that Doobl is genuine. It may be a spoof. If it is, then it is an extremely well concieved spoof. The attention to detail is intense, from the reference to an actual place in Texas (the Farmers Branch Fellowship of Christ is presumably in the town of Farmers Branch), to his mother's rare and extremely difficult to treat form of cancer (Pheochromocytoma), to the convincingly random spelling errors and typos.

On the other hand, if it's not a spoof (and I'm inclined to think that it isn't) then this guy is in for a world of pain before he gets any better. I mean, it's one thing to experience a disolution of faith. It's another thing when the event that precipitates that disolution is the death of your mother, with whom you clearly have an intense psycho-sexual relationship.

Really, he earnestly describes his mother as "the only woman I truly loved" and says that he "dreams every night of how she used to hold me" etc., etc. It's also no coincidence that the picture he selected is of her at the age of 21, she is clearly physically attractive and actually appears to be naked. Freud would have a field day with this guy.

Alas, if everything he writes is true then he is surely emotionally very underdeveloped. I fear he lacks the tools needed to... well... to put his life back together? sheesh. It's the incredibly painful candor that really gets me.

"conceived" and "dissolution", respectively. Man.

Oh, also, "Doobl" is an obvious anagram of "Blood" as in "...of Christ".
