There's no sense in crying over spilled cider...

Even if it was $8/ gal and lovingly fermented with champagne yeast.

So yeah, I was racking a gallon of hard cider that I made recently into the secondary tonight. About halfway through the weight of the racking cane pulled the one gallon plastic jug off of the counter and down to the floor. It looks like we lost a little over half it, and the remainder may be contaminated (which would cause the alcohol therein to be turned into lovely vinegar).

Oh well. Hopefully the 5 gallons of Scottish Ale I'm brewing now wont meet a similar fate.

Ack! Oh that's horrible. I hope the last half wasn't contaminated.

c'est la vie! If the last half is drinkable I'll be sure to send a bottle your way. :)

You should get together with Zuriel and figure a new spill-proof racking/bottling method. heh ;)
