Holy crap, Istanbul!

ursule and I are going to Istanbul in June. She'll be there for about two weeks, and I'll be there for about one. While I'm there we'll be staying a few blocks from Hagia Sophia (holy crap!)

That is excellent! I was watching Underground Archaelogy (I think it was either Discovery or the History Channel? Maybe both?) and they showed the cisterns under the city. One of them was one that an upscale carpet seller has built on (and incorporated into his showroom). It was beautiful. The other one is under...gah! I can't remember! But it's huge, looks like something out of Lord of the Rings as the arches and pillars stretch off into the distance. Absolutely amazing! And that's just the stuff *underground*! I N-V U!!
