We arrived a few days ago, and have been enjoying ourselves quite a bit. Relaxing, seeing various sites of interest, meeting very friendly people, and enjoying the fantastic food.

I've taken almost 2GB of photos (768 images), though many of them are no good due to poor lighting conditions, the lack of a tripod, and my lack of skill with a camera.

Yep! The cistern was built during the reign of Emperor Justinianus in the 6th century, and for almost 1500 years it was filled with water. It was rediscovered in the 60s, and dredged in the 80s (revealing the medusa heads).

The water has lots of carp in it, some huge! :)

Wow, I can't wait to see the rest of them. I am really digging the picture of all the columns and the one of the medusa head. Well, all of them actually. I want to see more!
