So it turns out that a huge SPR data set my student took this summer is bad. This is a major pain since we need good data of this type for a major funding deadline on September 18th. Both my advisor and I had been working with this bad data for weeks before we noticed the problem.
Anyway, so I was redoing those experiments until about 1 am. Then I had the joy of doing a smaller run of fluorescence experiments; that took until 3 am. I did have the hard deadline that if I didn't leave by 5 am the university would tow my car (since there is a football game on today.)
In the end we got data that looks great, and the analysis tools we've been building over the past few weeks worked almost perfectly on this data, and gave us the results we seek. Yay!
