So I decided to stay in the lab late tonight, in an effort to clear some outstanding things off of my to-do list. Around 7:30, I decided to head up to the ave for dinner. When I got outside, I saw that it had been snowing for a few hours. Of course, I drove in to campus today.

I have a rear wheel drive pickup, and live on top of a big hill. There are no routes to my place that don't involve a very steep bit; some of them even have turns on a steep bit. I know how badly my vehicle drives in the snow (especially when unloaded,) so I wont risk it.

Oh well, at least we have a couch in the lab. The weather reports show that it should be above freezing, so maybe it'll all melt in the next few hours and I can go home...

Good luck!

FWIW, I just failed to get up Queen Anne Hill on a bus, but just as I gave up and came home the radio announced that buses were going back to their normal routing.

Hmm, the metro page for ice & snow reroutes (http://transit.metrokc.gov/up/rr/adverseweather.html) shows nothing, of course.

The 1 takes a reasonably less steep route up Queen Anne than the other buses, and it happens to stop right around the corner from our apartment... :D

Up here, the snow is very wet, and the places where wheels have touched the road are clear.

ach ye poor lad! Better to sleep on a couch than risk your life and property on the roads though! Thinking warm thoughts...
