Got VNC working on my work computer, which is good. I have the gimp installed there, so I can do some actual image manipulation, if I have the time. This week is being consumed by my paper for my Vikings and Medieval Scandinavia class. Oh well.

Thanksgiving was amusing, it was really nice to spend lots of time with Ursula, and we fleshed out some plans for her winter break. We cooked a fair amount, and made vegetable stock, which is very good, since I ran out recently. I made an ice-cream turky with Ursula, but she ate it, so I only half observed the silly colonial holiday. I long for the days when my family went skiing over Thanksgiving though, that was always a lot of fun.

Speaking of cooking, I got a new vegetarian cookbook from my parents for my birthday, it looks really neat, I'm looking forward to trying out some of the recipies.

Went to see the Picasso exhibit at the Museum of Art, it was neat. They didn't have a whole lot of stuff there though, perhaps thirty paintings, but no scuplture. There was a really cool plasma display system set up for viewing the various layers of "La Vie", which was painted a few times, but alas, people were playing with it when we got there. I wish they had that available on their website, hmm, perhaps if I e-mail someone...

I read Firestar by Michael Flynn recently... it was reasonably good, but some of the characters made really stupid decisions that irritated me. The book also ended with several gaping holes in the plot, which begs for a sequel. Apparently there are four books in the series, I might read the rest of them, we'll see. I suppose this book was similar to Red Mars, except less satisfying. It does have the racing technological advancement though... shrug.

Well, back to work, more sometime soon.
