Good: We got 90% of our security deposit back from the old apartment.

Bad: My server did not survive the move. This is not entirely terrible, since I've been meaning to set up a new system anyway. The old machine lasted for almost exactly eight years, hopefully the new one will be as robust.

Even worse: My truck is some sort of dead. I went out to start it tonight around midnight, to drive to the U district and pick up [livejournal.com profile] ursule from her night of drunken debauchery, and it wouldn't start. The battery's fine, the starter motor is turning the engine over, but it doesn't even pop... I parked it with about an eighth of a tank, but I guess someone could have siphoned it off. We'll try again tomorrow. I hope it's something simple, I really don't have the money for a spendy fix right now, especially after the move.

[livejournal.com profile] ursule ended up taking the bus to ballard, and walking south on 15th. I went to meet her, and we met at the south end of the bridge, then walked back up to the top of Queen Anne. Bleh.

I fixed my car. :)

So, there's this inertial relay that turns off the fuel pump during an accident. It happens to be located underneath the glove box near where a passenger might put their feet. The connector that wires into this thing attaches from underneath. If a passenger stretches out in just the right way, they can press on the wires and disconnect the relay. In my case, the connector was about halfway off, and plugging it back in fixed the problem (of course I spent about 20 minutes checking all the ignition/fuel fuses and relays before looking at that...)
