Ursula and I arrived in Philadelphia about an hour ago, after a grueling 9.5 hour drive through some icky weather. Learning to drive in snow on the freeway was a *bad* experience. We got through all right, with only a few really tense moments, but I saw one of those 15 person vans spin out off of the road and flip over an embankment. They landed upright, and I think I saw them later on. Needless to say this made the rest of the drive pretty nerve-wracking. Fortunately, it was raining here in Philly when we got to the toll booth, so the last 10 miles or so was easy. The tension is almost gone, but I'm really freaking tired from it all. Too bad it's too late to order food, beer for dinner is really odd.

Also irritating: at several points on the turnpike, there are signs instructing you to tune to a radio station for various messages. However, at these points, the indicated radio station is all static, and only clears up about 10 miles down the road. Feh.

If it's like this when I return on Monday I'll probably go even more insane.
