So yeah, I deleted a bunch of packages on the aforementioned sparc2 to free up space to actually install the patches.
However, it looks like something got screwed up, since sshd is down...

Okay, I got a serial console hooked up, lets check this out.
Hmm init does something funky after starting up linuxconf.
Okay, the virtual consoles keep dying, no problem. Reboot, wait for fsck... wait... wait... Boot to single user mode... comment them out, create a serial console line... reboot again... got in. Oh, okay there's no script to start sshd... heh.
