Well, today has been interesting. My day went from being quite horrible and depressing to reasonably all right.
I ordered some things from Amazon over the weekend, and they were sent to the wrong office. At first I thought they had been sent to the Slipping and Deceiving department here on campus, but actually they made their way to an office down the hall from mine inhabited by a consultant. This was yesterday morning. I had called UPS to try and figure out where they were, but they were of no help to me as the shipper (the one who paid) is the only person who can get UPS to solve a problem.
Anyway, I was talking to one of the people in our office about an unrelated problem, and I asked her if she knew anyone that went by the name listed as the signer for the package. She did not, but she remembered seeing two amazon.com boxes in this guy's office. We went down there, and sure enough there were my things. I asked the guy why he didn't notify me when he received the packages, and he said that he wasn't going to do anything until he got paid.
Fucking ass.
So yeah, that brightened my day considerably. That and an e-mail from the TA of my lab course that our report isn't due until Monday, as opposed to tomorrow. Yay.
